Job Summary
Our client is looking to appoint a Bookkeeper to join their team in Inverness on a part time basis for approximately 20-24 hours per week. The role will initially be office based with the option thereafter for hybrid working.
The successful applicant will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, managing accounts payable and ensuring that all financial transactions are recorded in a timely manner. This role requires proficiency in accounting software and a strong understanding of bookkeeping principles.
Duties:
- Maintain and update financial records, ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulations.
- Manage accounts payable, including processing invoices and payments.
- Reconcile bank statements and ensure all transactions are accounted for.
- Prepare financial reports as required, including profit and loss statements.
- Assist with budget preparation and forecasting as needed.
- Collaborate with other departments to provide financial insights and support.
- Utilise accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, Free Agent & VT Transactions to manage financial data efficiently.
- Ensure that all financial practices adhere to established policies and standards.
Person Specification:
- Proven experience as a Bookkeeper or in a similar role is preferred.
- Proficiency in accounting software preferred, particularly QuickBooks & Xero.
- Strong understanding of accounts payable processes and bookkeeping principles.
- Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks effectively.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- A relevant qualification in Accounting or Finance is advantageous but not essential but must have bookkeeping experience.
